I read this a few months before my wedding, which is either perfect timing or a mildly insane choice. The story is unbelievable: a couple sailing toward New Zealand gets knocked into survival mode when a whale strike sinks their boat, and they spend 118 days adrift on a raft. But the real reason it stayed with me is the marriage angle, the way two different temperaments can either destroy each other under stress or become the only thing keeping each other alive. A great mix of adventure + partnership stress-test.
