Living in Europe means you can’t avoid UK politics, so I wanted a clearer understanding of how power actually circulates there. This book is basically a guided tour of the Eton/Oxford network and how a small, tightly connected cohort kept handing the steering wheel to one another (and then acted shocked when it didn’t end well). It’s a cautionary overview of what happens when relationships outrank competence.
