I have a soft spot for Persian history and culture (and food), so this was naturally up my alley. A gripping tale of how the Iranian Revolution (the overthrow of the Shah) came to be and how it might have been prevented if there hadn’t been so much hubris, delusion, and miscalculation. It reads like a political tragedy with well-developed characters.
