Studio Elèn Letort completes renovation of Amsterdam apartment

Studio Elèn Letort renovated a three-floor maisonette in a 17th-century former merchant's house in Amsterdam's Herenmarkt.
The clients wanted a home to display their art, design objects and travel souvenirs.
The interior was intended to feel expressive and characterful while still calm, refined and easy to live in.
The project focused on aesthetic and spatial improvements because the apartment was already in generally good condition.
The upper floor was reorganized to better separate the main bedroom and bathroom.
The palette centers on rich wood tones, natural materials and subtle color accents to add warmth and tactility.
Historic features like original wooden beams were paired with walnut cabinetry, steel worktops and fluted glass.
The design draws on the building's history and Dutch Golden Age references.
Furniture and objects combine archival design, contemporary pieces, custom details and the owners' collected items.
Pieces were sourced from Les Objets Amsterdam and other selected brands.
