Create & share a group calendar | Calendar | Google Workspace Help
- Administrators at work or school can create group calendars in Google Calendar to share with people in their organization.
- Group calendars are commonly used for things like company holidays and organization-wide meetings.
- The person who creates the calendar owns it, and the owner’s organizational policies also apply to the calendar.
- If a group is invited to an event, a copy of that event is stored and processed under the top organization’s data policies.
- To restrict a calendar to specific people, admins should first place them in a separate group.
- A group calendar is created in Google Calendar by choosing Create new calendar, entering the name, description, and time zone, then clicking Create calendar.
- A calendar can be shared with everyone in the organization by enabling Make available for your organization.
- A calendar can also be shared with a specific person or group through More settings and sharing.
- Users can be invited by email with an Add to calendar link, or they can subscribe using the calendar’s Calendar ID.
- Starting in early 2026, deleting a group calendar’s owner will also delete the calendar, so Google recommends transferring calendars before deleting users.
